I got one for Christmas too. Great write-ups and the photography is amazing! I had no idea how complex an HDMI cable is. Worth every penny.

Books are GREAT. When I started many years ago I was actively hunting for anything on Tubes, and was fortunate enough to find books for teaching from US Military.

I seen some of this guy's work and it demystifies components especially for the first time uses. These are great books ! I was lucky years ago to have had access to a failure analysis group in a defense factory. They use to slice components open to see why they failed or to prove there were being built to some special specification. Sometimes seeing what a particular part was made up of could be surprising.

Wifey got me this for Xmas, on the recommendation of curiousmarc. Gotta agree with everything you said. I'm still leafing though it. Learnt more than a few things that were surprising lol (why they are called flip chips eg, I'd never really thought about it before)

I definitly wanna try buy this book. sadly shipping from nostarch would make it expensive and local bookstore sells it (europe) but then I get no ebook :(
