(Animation) Block Tales - The Pit - Floor 29

This is the 3rd animation I have made and finished.

It's been over 2 months since my last video, so you would think I spent 2 months on this animation, but I actually spent about 3 of those weeks working on a different animation that has now ultimately been given the "I'll finish it eventually" treatment.

The game shown is Block Tales on Roblox.

Q&A:
"Who are the noobs supposed to be?"
Me (the noob king) and my brothers.

"Why are all the stats/numbers outdated?"
I made this animation before demo 3 and all of its following patches came out. There's also a disclaimer at 0:06, near the top of the screen, but maybe I made it too small for people to notice.

"Where's the fourth player?"
There was no fitting candidate for a fourth player. I was thinking of using my alternate account to act as the fourth player, but in the end I decided to scrap that idea. I've decided I'll bring it back for future animations, though.

"Why did you break game accuracy near the end?"
I know the turn-based pacing is very game accurate, but it became extremely restrictive, repetitive, and demotivating to animate for me. I had a lot more fun after the rainbow prayer was used, though.

Something notable is that the turn-based pacing is really slow in terms of dealing damage, and since my animations are made across the length of a song, fights have to end in only 2 or 3 minutes.

(I also gave myself the rule that anything particularly game inaccurate, such as 1:49, 1:53, or 2:00, would only serve to be flashy or look cool, and would match the damage numbers from the game when using the same cards that get shown (according to demo 2 for this animation). The REAL main issue is the inaccurate number of turns, which I'll (maybe) try to improve on in the future)

"Why didn't you animate this in the style of Block Tales?"
Uhh, I don't know.

"Where'd you get the assets for Block Tales?"
All the images of the cards, status effects, and action ratings were taken from the Block Tales wiki, but everything else, such as the map, healthbars, or player status boxes were re-created by me, with heavy usage of the Roblox Studio toolbox to get things like the classic roblox equipment, the checkered menu background for the GUI, or the komodo dragon model.

"Wait!!! Are you abandoning Dummies vs Noobs?"
I'll admit I might end up posting Dummies vs Noobs animations less often, but I am determined to make an animation of all nine bosses eventually (at least I've got one down already), plus I'll get to the mastermind fight, epilogue, and wave ultima. Even though Dummies vs Noobs is by far my most favorite game on Roblox, there's still a lot of other things I'd like to cover.

"How did you animate this?"
I used Moon Animator in Roblox Studio, and I recorded everything with OBS Studio and edited it in Shotcut.

"Will you make more Block Tales animations?"
I might make an animation for Hatred.
Importantly, if I do, the entirety of the animation will likely use the pacing style from the end portion of the video rather than the beginning portion.

I love how everyone has a clear role in the battle. King is support, by constantly healing and applying debuffs to enemies, while both Glasses and Noob deal damage (one as a Knight and the other as a Baller), really nice attention to detail!

I like how everytime seomone gets hit it just adds more bass boost making it more brutal

Now this, is what i call a good animation, cu, it has it all:

1. Only things from the game and no bonuses (many animators tend to do that)

2. Everything was well thought, from the damage, to the debuffs, to the items

3. Certain sections of the animation match with the beat of the ost, which just makes it smooth and great

The hatred fight you did was even better, I'd love to see you do another animation with floor 39 in the pit, it'll look great!

I dont care if this doesn't go exactly how the normal fights are supposed to, this is by far one of the best Block tales Animations I'VE EVER The VFX is just amazing man, chef's kiss.

I love how this still feels like the actual game just made 10x more badass up till the last part which feels like a fucking final smash, overall I love this, beautifully made, I love all the little touches of every card showing up before its usage, the battle menu, and just all the little touches, just beautiful.

I gotta say this is one of the best block tales animation I've ever watched, the fight felt like it's like alan becker's stick figures' chaotic fight especially starting at 1:38, with sooo much stuffs going on

DUDE. THIS WAS ACTUALLY SO AWESOME

there's so many great aspects about this, i dont think i can even cover them all.

a big one i had to pause the video for
and appreciate was at 0:40, when yoyo uses the venonshank. It's small, but the sword is linked to the NRG display on the right, with the energy shown draining as the venomshank's poison wave charges up. It really feels like a powerful attack is charging up, and i actually love that so much. It happens a few more
times in the video too, just with other things happening.

The komodo attack sequences at 1:10 and 1:32 show really well how unstable this battle can feel at times, with them ganging up on you with their turn advantage, overall just showing the pressure on the team.

finally, at 1:53, i really like how the baller noob does the linebounce here lol. It looks like he's hitting em with that slam dunk

There is SO much more to appreciate, but those are my favorite aspects. Truly amazing work

my main critique is some of the SFX is quite too loud at points, but that's just an audio balancing issue at most
