I am a Democrat of fifty years and I want to say that there is nothing inherently wrong with true Republican ideals. Just as you can't spend forever, there are times when spending must be done; that is why I became a Democrat. Why we are seeing so many Republicans join the Democrats voting for Harris is the fact that they took their oaths to protect and defend the Constitution seriously while others did not and I applaud them for it. We are brothers today fighting an authoritarian threat against our democracy that must be defeated and I am proud to lock arms with them. I pray that together we can not only win this election but destroy that threat forever and I pray that the conservative movement can get re-established as a very loyal opposition party to my party. We need them both.

Yes, democracy is a policy issue, but the problem is much more profound: if you imagine that someone who refuses to accept that he lost the election and then tries to assassinate his own VP for upholding the US Constitution, will somehow miraculously care about the economy or immigration, Trump's entire record proves that that's false. A person without character lies about EVERYTHING, including about immigration and the economy. It's clearly Biden and Harris who are much more serious and competent when it comes to the economy or border security and immigration. So it's not a matter of disregarding the fact that he's despicable as a person and voting for him to obtain progress on the economy and border, or not voting for him and seeing those policy issues deteriorate. It's precisely if you care about the economy and border that you HAVE to vote for Harris.
