The flags are in order of country code. Andorra is first with AD and United Arab Emirates has AE. South Africa is one of the last with ZA and Switzerland has CH.

My favorite flag symbolism is Bhutan's. The orange half represents Buddhist tradition while the yellow represents civil tradition and temporal authority, with the dragon between them to show their equal importance and evokes the strength of the sacred bond between sovereign and people. But the dragon is of course the coolest part! In Dzongkha, dragon is druk, and the country is known as Druk Yul or Dragon Country. It being white signifies the purity of inner thoughts and deeds that unite all the linguistically diverse peoples of Bhutan. The jewels held in Druk's claws represent Bhutan's wealth and the protection of its people, while the dragon's snarling mouth symbolizes Bhutanese deities' commitment to defense.

Why a druk? According to traditional accounts, when the sect's founder, Tsangpa Gyare, 1st Gyalwang Drukpa, began to build Ralung Monastery, there was a violent storm. Thunder, or the "Cloud-Voice, " is seen as the roar of the dragon. Deciding that this was an omen, he named the monastery Drug-Ralung, adding the word "thunder dragon" to the name. The disciples were known as Drugpa, or "Those of the Thunder."

The trident on Barbados's flag comes from its colonial coat of arms, and it's meant to be the head of a trident broken from Poseidon's trident on the flag, symbolizing that Barbados broke away from colonial rule! Quite cool! Here's the background on why the Central African Republic flag looks unique, the colors chosen are intended to be symbolic of France (blue and white) as it was a former French colony and Africa (green and yellow) with the red vertical stripe connecting them both in unity, and the respect that Europeans and Africans should have for each other. The yellow star is intended to be indicative of independence as well as a symbol of African unity, progress and tolerance.

Most of the Central American flags have a pretty similar design because of the flag of United Provinces/Federal Republic of Central America which existed from 1823 and 1841, and in turn, that flag was inspired by Argentina's! This is because Hipólito Bouchard who was a French-born sailor that fought for the Argentines against the Spanish. He did whatever he could to disrupt the Spanish across the Americas, like briefly occupying Monterey in what's now the US state of California! During the end of the voyage, Bouchard raided Spanish ports in Central America. So these Central Americans saw the flag of Argentina as their flag of freedom from the Spanish, and thus took inspiration.

I love the celestial globe on the Brazilian flag as much as you do! It reflects the sky over the city of Rio de Janeiro in November 1889 when the Republic was proclaimed. Not only that, but each star corresponds to a Brazilian Federal Unit, so the flag has to be updated every time a state is created or dissolved. When it was first adopted, it had 21 stars and was last updated in 1992 to include Amapá, Roraima, Rondônia and Tocantins for 27 stars. So there are 26 stars for the different states, and another for the Federal District (the capital Brasília). The green and yellow on the other hand come from the previous imperial flag, with green for the House of Braganza (Pedro I) and yellow for House of Habsburg (his wife).

Kiribati's flag is chef's kiss. So the flag is the expansion of the coat of arms of the former Gilbert and Ellice Islands colonial flag, like how the flag of the US state of Maryland is just an expanded version of the banner of arms of Cecil Calvert, the 2nd Baron Baltimore. The insignia was designed by Sir Arthur Grimble in 1932. The bird on the flag is a frigate bird which represents power, poise, freedom and Kiribati cultural dance patterns. The sun rising refers to Kiribati's location astride the Equator. It has 17 rays to represent the Gilbert Islands and Banaba. While the waves are of course the Pacific Ocean! I love the tropical theme of Antigua & Barbuda, but Kiribati just looks more appealing.

Brunei (not Burundi) is quite the epic flag. The field of yellow represents the Sultan. The hands symbolize the benevolence of the government. The crescent represents Islam. The parasol represents the monarchy, and the wings symbolize justice, tranquility, peace, and prosperity. And the black and white stripes represent Brunei's chief ministers/senior advisors the Pengiran Bendahara (First Minister; represented with white) and the Pengiran Pemancha (Second Minister; represented with black), with the white stripe being slightly wider than the black one to signify the First Minister's role.

The flag after Botswana was Belarus. The part of the flag that was cut off is a traditional Belarusian decorative pattern. These patterns are sometimes used in woven garments, most importantly in the traditional ruchnik, a woven cloth used for ceremonial events like religious services and funerals. Something cool about the Bosnia & Herzegovina flag is that the top and bottom stars are cut off, and this is because the stars represent Europe and that the stars are meant to be infinite in number, so they go off the flag. The three points of the yellow triangle represent the Bosniaks, Serbs, and Croats, and the triangle itself represents the approximate shape of the country.
