Am in the UK watching helplessly as polarization destroys society here too. It doesnt matter what side of the spectrum you're on..the people aren't your enemies. They're your friends and neighbours and colleagues. You may have different ideas on how to fix problems but it can be done together. Find what you agree on instead of what you disagree on. There will be more than you think.

The power from polarization doesn't come from being herded into ideological teams where you're played off against eachother, it exists in the vacuum thats left behind.

Im from the UK and although I don't know a massive amount about USA politics... one thing seems clear to me there are some very entrenched political positions and an unwillingness for one side to see any good in the other sides position. As someone apolitical on the issues, when I hear people say what a horrid guy trump is ... like he's a racist I ask what is it he's done to make him racist and I either get a bit of a blank look without an actual answer or half a story they heard somewhere ... If I were asked for my opinion - I would find out for myself what the score is and not give someone else's opinion.
