Xara Web Designer 365 Premium: Stick At Top Navigation Menu Lesson 10

In this Website Design tutorial we will look at the new Stick At Top feature added to Xara Web Designer 365 Premium in this case for use with a Navigation Menu.

The first thing we will do is create an Navigation Menu that we want to be sticky. In this case I already pre-built a navigation menu so if you are not familiar with how to do that be sure to watch our video that walks you through that process. Afterward I will create a rectangle full-width background that will allow you to blend it in with the navigation menu simulating a full-width navigation menu.

In certain cases though you will have situations in your web design workflow where you want objects to scroll underneath the stick at top object. So in that case go to the page and layer gallery and make sure the stick at top object is above the objects that you want to scroll underneath it. To move an object simply click and drag it in the order you want it arranged in the page and layer gallery.

Hi Thank you again for all of these great videos. I have several questions and will add them at the appropriate videos. When using stick at top I have noticed that several websites out there have a flash element (like fonts sort of expanding or shifting around) when something sticks at top - can you do a video that shows how to make that effect please.

i need some help.. i made a navbar then i place an banner, and put an slider.. the slider will cover the banner.. how to place the banner in front of the slider?

Hi. Thanks for another interesting video. I've just downloaded the trial version of WD365P to decide whether to upgrade from version 11. One of the features that interests me is the stick to top. I wondered how to handle it if I want some objects to stop short of the top. For example, if I have my buttons arranged in two horizontal rows, and the bottom one should stay below the top one once the scrolling reaches the top, is it possible to do that? In my preliminary attempt, they overlap each other and only one row remains visible. Thanks for any insights.
