Austinites used to be able to drive through the Montopolis bridge. I would always scare myself thinking about Leatherface jumping out from under. The bridge is next to a lot of construction right now. I hope the city doesn't demolish it!

great video, I have wanted to visit / see the Texas Battle land location, I know its private property. But how did you line up / match the shots, it looks very unrecognizable?

When I visited the Bastrop bridge, I thought it was funny that they had this long speeding car chase scene in the movie, and in reality you could leisurely walk the full length of the bridge in about five minutes, lol.

It's also interesting that the 2009 Friday the 13th filmed some scenes within a short walk of that same Bastrop bridge, so the town has a link to two iconic horror franchises.

Too bad, he doesn't go underground in the family house..
Maybe Leatherface and Drayton Sawyer are still there (!)

TCM the original and the second one were my favorite. Tobe Hooper created a work of art in those two movies. After everyone else got ahold of them... they didn't have the vision Hooper had. The first remake with R Lee Ermy wasn't too bad. They just don't have the same MOJO Tobe had. Ermy was a fantastic choice tho. I think he's the one that really made the remake worth something. Had he not been in it, it would have been pretty much trash. Nobody will top the 1974 original tho. It was the first of its kind and those days are long gone unfortunately. Since then people have tried and tried to equal it using a plethora of different weapons..some have come close but TCM the original was a trend setter.
