Last week, after 11 years as a pro player, Bjergsen retired. We’ve kind of been here before, because it kind of happened before, but this time it seems like it’s forever.

In a candid message to his fans, the contender for the GOAT of North American League of Legends, explained why he plans to leave the game and esports for good.

As a young Dane I've been following Bjergsen since the beginning when I was just 12 years old. I still remember his EU LCS debut like it was yesterday. Giving CW their first win to end the 0-9 run. It just felt magical. League will not ever be the same without him

Definitely another dagger in the heart of NALCS. I mean the dude absolutely has to and should do what makes him happy, but with TSM likely out, CLG out, and now Bjergsen gone and wouldn't be surprised to see Doublelift go as well. The NALCS is going to feel mighty empty.

Man I remember how hype everyone was when Bjerg joined TSM years ago. Man how different League n just times in general were back then.

As a C9 fan, I always hated seeing my team lose against Bjergsen and TSM. But those were always some great games.

I'm gonna miss seeing Bjerg in pro play. He was a great player. He deserved better.

As a dane myself i can tell you that he has a big influence on our intire country's esports scene.
The man has inspired thousands of people to improve themselves and try to go pro.
And he has cemented himself as one of the pillars of the danish esports scene (Which is by far one of the biggest regions pressence wise in esports so thats a feat that isnt to be taken lightly)

Never been a fan of LoL. But never heard a bad thing about Bjergsen. Seems like a stand up dude and I wish nothing but the best for him.

Last week when Doublelift failed to flash, Bjergsen decided to retire.

Well it’s to be expected. Nothing lasts forever. We’ve seen it with many players before. They just lose passion for the game.

Retiring Zilean with him is interesting, really unique take! I kinda like that idea, as they continue to release new champions.
