Most everything Rachel said is incorrect. Yams are not sweeter, they have more starch, come from Africa or Asia, and are rare in the US/Canada. The young girl is most likely just holding different types of sweet potatoes, although to me they looked like the same variant.

She's wrong. Yams aren't sweeter and generally are not sold in the U.S. Both items the gal in the store is holding are sweet potatoes.

I am thinking Rachael is 100% incorrect. Both of those things shown are sweet potatoes.
The Caribbean yam she mentioned is dark skinned and white/yellow on the inside.

She’s quite wrong in this video. Yams are not sweeter. If your buying a yam in the US, it’s likely a type of sweet potato just labeled as a yam. Actual yams are few and far between in the US.

I'm still going to call sweet potatoes - yams
Sounds healthier 😉
I LOVE roasted yams & brussels sprouts ❤

I thought yams usually have rough brown bark like skin. It looks like she is holding two sweet potatoes. I hate it when supermarkets label sweet potatoes yams because it gets confusing af.

Rachel is clueless about yams. She is a typical american who thinks she knows but does not really know.
