I remember when the boarding gates were outdoors under a canopy and passengers walked across the tarmac onto a portable stairs.

I have never been into this airport but have seen it several times. I think LAX will take a back seat now

Love your channel! I just moved to Huntington Beach this year. Already learned it's worth it to spend more money and miles on United just to fly out of SNA and connect in SFO over driving to LAX :) Keep up the great work

Hi Chris. Thanks for the informative walk thru. I can understand why you and many other travelers prefer John Wayne. I wouldn't mine paying a little more to avoid the hassles of LAX. Take care.

I love SNA. I see flights taking off from there every morning on my way to work.

I've lived in L.A. my entire life, yet I've never flown into or out of John Wayne Airport. I avoid LAX whenever possible, so I usually fly out of Burbank, Long Beach or Ontario. I'm not avoiding OC, but I guess the flight offerings just haven't met my particular needs. Thanks, as always, for the informative video, Chris!

That looks like a very nice airport. I'll have to consider flying in here whenever I get a chance to visit Orange County or the LA area. I didn't realize until just now that there are nonstop flights from Detroit to Orange County with Delta!

They actually do passport control. If you look at Gate 13 &14 (you are starting right at them behind the frosted glass when you approached Terminal C at 4:49) they have sterile corridors leading to immigration, baggage claim for internationals, and customs. You can see them even more clearly if you happen to have a flight departing from one of those gates. It is behind frosted glass at lower level baggage claim and there are doors that are "no entry" that have customs. They are only for Mexico flights since Canada flights have pre-clearance at the origin airport.

I ❤️ SNA!!! If we can get our flight out of PAE instead of SEA and go to SNA, our trip is a WIN! When we stay at our aunt's house on Newport Beach, we always know when it's time to wake up because the planes start taking off and the sea lions start barking. 😄

I love it there. It’s 10 minutes from house . It’s better than going to LAX. I use it when I go to Europe . I just get a layover somewhere else in the country
