Cool vid! But as an outsider, I'm not able to extract any information. It would have been really cool if you did like a "control" throw in a regularly oiled lane, and gave your impressions on each lane as you shoot, because otherwise I come out with the same info that I came in.

I shoot the spares straight unless its a split if almost any kind of

You should bowl on the extra oil lane with a 200 grit gem drilled on the axis point

As someone that works at a bowling alley as the one who oils said lanes im telling you now when you start putting more oil it stops effecting the ball as much and just causes the pinspotter to jam

Question: does oil go under the area by the pins as well? If so, I’m assuming that also helps with the pins getting knocked over correct?

I know it sounds weird but I don't hook at all. Never really learned how to so I basically just throw it right at the pocket. If I can hit right at the pocket I usually get a strike

In my yoof I was a tech at a bowling alley primarily a lane cleaner and prepper, my gaffer spent way too long teaching me about the impact of cleaner on the lane, how to ensure lanes were completely free of chemicals and I could service an lane machine quicker than any other tech at our alley. A skill that is now completely useless to me 😂 Luckily I swerved the worst job, cleaning pins.

Even as a very amateur bowler, its insane how much of a difference lane quality makes, and my go to technique is bowling in a straight line directly at the front pin 😂
