I disagree that Lulu and the Lampshades (the folks Anna Kendrick got it from) ruined this.
If anything, their love for the original - which they credited in that very first YouTube posting - and the fun they had with it have connected the Carter Family - and their harmonies - to more people.

I cannot imagine June Carter Cash objecting to that fun - or even changing prayer to hair ;-)
Unlike the proud haters here, I don't think she would accuse those two girls of *ruining* anything with their beautiful voices and infectious rhythm game.
