I have another interpretation for this: she herself could be the one killing and peeling off the victims' faces but she doesn't remember doing so because of some sort of mental condition like a DID (dissociative identity/split personality disorder). So when she wakes up, she just sees the new face on her bed and wears it with no recollection of how it got there.

So uhm.. me and my friends experienced a strange feeling... There were three of us (back in the school days) our teacher always told us to leave after 30 minutes after the bell rings and tell us to clean the class as we don't care cuz our bus comes pretty late but one day we thought that we should leave early once and ran so that teacher won't see us there were three sections in our school we went near the lower primary section and we started talk about how fun it was to escape like that but a strange feeling got into us.. saying that we shouldn't have left.. i told my friends that i have a strange feeling RN and they told that they are scared cuz they felt it too
And we regretted our decision the next day it was normal but that day everything was different and our teacher told us not to go early.. how could we all feel the same ?
The teacher acted strange after that day too...
