Albania Eurovision 2020 reaction video | Arilena Ara 'Shaj'

My reaction video to Arilena Ara's "Shaj" — Albania's Eurovision 2020 song. I filmed this ahead of FiK 58. My general point was that she sounds great and that this would work well live with an orchestra. I thought it would do great at Festivali i Kenges...but maybe not so well at Eurovision.

I think it might get a similar result as Tamara Todevska. I mean she is not gonna win the juryvoting but still I think the juries would definitely respect this entry while getting less votes from the public. We'll see.

I am telling you she will do very well at Eurovision 2020! Many eurofans dont understand that “Shaj” is better than any songs that Albania sent last decade. The reason is that they are blinded cause “Me Tana” didnt win!

TBH, Me Tana is very much built on the Feugo template. There’s really nothing original about it. Don’t forget Replay didn’t do as well as expected last year despite it being hailed as a potential ECS winner. The Swiss entry, another Feugo soundalike, though it got a top 5 placing, failed to scale new heights for a song with the Feugo structure. To expect Me Tana to do well two years after Feugo’s “victory” in ESC is to underestimate how taste can move on.

I think the song sounds quite dated but "Me Tana" wasn't a great live performance. Arilena is an unbelievable singer but I feel this is a song that will purely rely on jury votes to get through to the final.

I've heard that the song "Shaj" will be revamped and be sung in english instead of albanian. Don't let this song be sung in english, it's gonna stay albanian as it is. Also, I want this song to be in the finals at Eurovision because I know this song will slay in the semifinals.

Arilena has an Amazing Voice, Beauty and live singing but Albania continue with the same path last year into ballad mood and Elvana and her Me Tana would have been a strong change in style, kind of Artist and a Spectacular Staging!!!
