'World's most powerful!' Artemis 1 moon rocket praised by NASA Chief

Shiny rocket good, orange rocket also good. Just think about it: we have TWO superheavy-lift megarockets! As different from one another as can be, yet both coming online at around the same time, and both committed to the same goal of (finally!) returning humans to deep space. What a time to be alive!

No, it’s not. Starship is the most powerful, the largest, and can carry more payload. The only thing SLS has going for it is that it’s the most EXPENSIVE rocket ever built!

The starship (top) hasn’t cleared atmosphere, and the first stage hasn’t even left the ground. The pace they’re making is incredible, but it’s still just a concept prototype. Stop defending the billionaires tin can, if it can do better than SLS then fantastic we’ll have two incredible rockets. You keep repeating the same thing like it completely negates this massive piece of engineering that neither of us can understand. Calm down.

i still feel the whole program creates a very large amount of waste, from the solid rockets boosters, the core stage and so on.
especially considering the cost of these parts, and the fact you will have to supply new ones for every launch it, it seems like a large waste of money compared to the project the private sector has come up with.
