Though not often, eventually you will need to replace your ventilation or other exhaust fan system’s fan belt. This video, How To Measure A Fan Belt, will fill you in on the process.

If you’re seeking a replacement, the first place to start looking is inside of the exhaust fan. See if you can locate the unit’s model number or if it lists the required size of the fan belt.

Don’t fret if that information is missing from your unit, because there is a very simple way to find out the size you need - using the belt’s outside circumference.

Even if you have you’re unit’s information, do not get too caught up with model numbers, as they often conflict with the actual size of the belt. You only need to know the outside circumference of the belt.

If you can remove the belt from the unit, take a marker and mark any point on the outside of the belt. Then on a table, take the belt and line up your mark at the beginning of extended tape measure, rolling it along the tape until you return to your mark on the belt. The length will give you the correct belt size.

If you cannot remove the belt, simply take some string, wrap it around the installed belt. Later, take the length of string and place it along a tape measure. Again, that length will ensure you order the correct belt size.

HoodFilters offers a wide variety of Standard and Heavy Duty fan belts. Heavy Duty belts differ from the Standard variety by three unique features:

• Notches are molded into the belt during manufacturing which increase flexibility and reduces bending stress.

• The belt edge is machined for even sheave groove contact resulting in smoother running, less slip and wear.

• Patented Ethylene material construction provides –70 degree F to +250 degrees F temperature range to resist belt cracking.

Standard fan belts are available in TruFlex and PowerRated light duty V-Belts, while our Heavy Duty belts are Tri-Power V-Belts, which are identified by a distinctive molded-notch configuration.

What about for a fan like this what would you do. Because I want it and I talk to my dad in the past and I talk to him recently about it like a few minutes ago or so and he said we’ll see. Because I told him we have a 30 inch pedestal fan distract her I just look at louder and it’s a three blade it’s a modified pitch because ever since it fell on the ground that time. But I made it a little deeper pinch so it can work/not wobble. And it works better… But I told him how this fan it’s quieter and can move more air in a lower RPM/deal, and sometimes to Paris for family so loud we will move it into the back of the backyard/patio so it’s not so loud and it wouldn’t close my chair, but this fan you can move it back in that same spot and you weren’t even here and yet you were still be feeling the effects from it… You know. But yeah, plus I just think it’s really cool too
