I hope everyone from 38 studios can find a job again! Cards on the table, I've meant to pick that game up for a while now, but I ever got around to it. Still though, looking to Twitter in terms of HR depts in various game companies, at least other dev studios are opening their doors to help take in those people who need new jobs. Good luck former employees, I hope you get back on your feet again soon!

With it becoming so much more difficult to make games that surpass today's standards, I sometimes think that video games will either have to dumb it down to make production costs match sales, or I feel video games will have to increase in price for sales costs to make up for production.

That's true a lot of them split, some went to makes facebook games actually. But just because it not the same people doesnt mean its not the same studio, no matter who works there i still had a lot of respect for the people at that studio

I agree, sadly Rise of Legends never hit the mark. But by the looks of it a Sequel to Rise of Nations is near impossible now. I still play my RoN weekly, i remember the days playing online with my good friends. Been able to play with friends again A.I was great fun. Rare RTS games come close to classic RoN nowadays.

because the video game market is one of the few that is still growing in the united stats. As far as investments go, the likelihood of a return is very high. Also, the company brought jobs to RI which could further boost economy. If RI gave the money to a company in RI, the salaries would be spent in RI and boost the local commerce. Little did they know that the studio had cliche and derivative ideas and poor management. This does not mean that the company is gone though...

@Resvrgam it's not just "this" industry, it's every industry, every corporation and every small business owner aspiring to be like them. Somewhere along the line people just forgot they were dealing with other people's lives. It's despicable and it's running the show. I totally agree... wtf.
