Krampus and Santa two sides of the festive coin. Never needed Krampus my mother was and still is more scary than any demon.

I remember the American Dad episode when krampus kidnapped Steve because he was acting like a spoiled brat.Then Steve was talking to the furniture in the castle about how Krampus was evil but then the furniture corrected him saying that Krampus was doing something good because he actually cared enough about Steve to punish him.

I'm so glad you mentioned the part of where people consider Krampus to be Loki's grandson from Hel. I'm still trying to figure out who his daddy could be, but given the fact that he is considered by many to be Hel's, the Norse goddess Queen of the underworld, son to be quite an accomplishment, at least in my opinion.

Krampus is mostly in Austria and bavaria but also in
Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Northern Italy (Autonomous Province of Trento and South Tyrol), Slovakia, and Slovenia.

There's Krampus, which is more prevalent in the alpine area of Germany and Austria, but in my are there's Knecht Ruprecht and he's usually more toned down and tame than Krampus, though they both serve the same purpose.

To be honest yeah Krampus was the one giving the “virgács“ (lazy to Google it in english basicly a bunch of hitting stick maybe birch branches too) but he was kinda the helper of Santa in Hungary. There is no elfs helping Santa in my country and Santa only come at December 6 in Santa day leaving chokolrte and Candy in our clean boots (if you were bad get virgács ). In Christmas the Little Jesus bring the present in Dec 24. But yeah Santa and Krampus comes together as friends.
