As temperatures rise and concerns grow about grid failure, ERCOT officials are relying on solar power to get Texas through high energy demands. Batteries that are charged on site with solar power are able to provide around 320 megawatt hours of electricity to the grid, effectively preventing a blackout.

It's not the solar panels saving the grid. It's the batteries. Solar panels just generate electricity like so many other things. The problem the grid has is with storage. Batteries is what the grid needs more of.

Solar and wind got, unfairly, a bad rap with the TX cold snap a while back. Now hopefully they are seen in a better light to be a reliable useful resource.
