Blowing 60163 Tornado's whistle! 20th april 2013

Hi all just wanted to let everyone know that the kid is me! I’ve only just came across this video after some deep diving i’m currently 19 years old now so this was quite a long time ago. The drivers name is Mark, mine is Jack. Mark was an old friend of my grandads and i when i was younger as we were members of a model railway club. I don’t know how but i was gifted the chance to do this, was a complete surprise to me at the time. Yes i struggled in the video the whistle was extremely stiff (at least for me as a weak child). There is a section in a Loco magazine somewhere talking about me on the footplate of Tornado, my grandad still has it i believe. I remember that day as one of the best days of my life, the station master also brought me a brew up to the cab lol. I’m honestly amazed to have found this video, any questions feel free to reply to this comment :)

lucky lucky, I saw the tornado steaming past manors near Newcastle today cos she was operating the Tyne/Tees Express and I just saw her as she was leaving from Newcastle from the carpark
