Workout Drum Machine!

Look Mum No Computer made me a drum machine that syncs to your heart beat for YouTube Makers Secret Santa. The faster you work out, the faster the drums play. I push it and my heart rate to the limit with a bunch of tests. Can I get it to work? What's the coolest beat? How steady can I keep it? How fast can I get the bpm on the music and my own heart? Does it make cardio not insufferable?

Haha. Oh gosh damn. Welcome to the world of this either working or stop working for no reason 😂. Electronics my gosh. It's a special type of torturous hobby. So glad it got to work! When you sent the pic of what had happened I felt so silly. I was in a rush to get it in the post I must have just forgot to make sure the wav trigger (the red board) was gunna stay solid where it's meant to be. Maybe a bit of sponge or something on top of it to push against other side of the box will keep it in place who knows haha. I'm so bloody glad it works haha and it actually sounds like it works relatively reliably too! I mean as you know it's can be a bit of an unpredictable beast haha. Fudging awesome. Made my day knowing it's not just a fancy paperweight anymore haha! Wooopwooop

Sam even laced the wire! That's some exquisite old school quality right there! That was the standard before cable ties came into existence and is now a largely lost craft.

Ah, nice to see that you finally got it to work properly - I actually found your main channel when watching last years Secret Santa play list and was very impressed by the gifts you made to Colin Furze, but a bit bumed out that the heart-beat drum machine you got from Sam refused to work. Great stuff!

The Makers Secret Santa was where I first saw you, and it was so sad to see Sam's machine not working. It's so awesome to see that you guys got it going! Was a bit surprised to not see it on the main channel though. Very awesome though!

WOOHOO! Full circle! .. As you may recall the Secret Santa is how I found you :) Been watching avidly ever since... along with my GF and roommate as well. Our breathing changes our heart rate due to the changes of pressure from breathing in to breathing out which is why it seems more regular when you're breathing shallow and fast.
