Netflix's Dracula - Review

Count Dracula gets revamped in his latest small screen adaptation from Sherlock and Dr. Who writers Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat. Claes Bang as Transylvania's most famous vampire brings fresh blood to an old and often told story, and Dolly Wells takes a brand new stab at his arch nemesis Van Helsing, but does it all add up? The new take definitely takes a minute to get used to, but ultimately this miniseries from the BBC on Netflix is an exciting new chapter in Dracula's history.

Why cant we just get a classic dracula series like the first 2 episodes...

We could've seriously had count Dracula stalking old London like Jack the Ripper and have Agatha Van Hellsing hunting him down. But no, we had to get the club kids that had zero value to the story.

Episode 1 = Van Helsing
Episode 2 = Van Sherlock Holmes
Episode 3 = ''I'm Lucifer, Lucifer Morningstar!''

I have never seen a show take such a massive plummet in quality in one episode as this show has. First two were near perfect and then.... this

The third episode was based on a very interesting concept but it was executed quite poorly especially the last half of the episode

Never in my entire life have I been so obsessed and impressed with exactly 2/3 of a series. Absolute perfection to what was ultimately a poorly written out dr who episode.

These guys can't seem to wrap anything up. They killed Sherlock, they killed this.

Spoiler ahead...

They should've ended it in ep 2 when the camera pans in on Dracula's wooden coffin at the bottom of the sea. Then they could (although there's no need for it) continue with another season where Agatha along with the two remaining survivors from the ship recover Dracula's coffin. Cue another cat and mouse game between Agatha and Dracula and end it with an ultimate death in an old time period long before cell phones were invented.

Episode 1 was really great. Sets a great tone for the series and what an adventure through Dracula's whole castle! Episode 2 follows nicely but unfortunately, Episode 3 completely nose bombed for me. I know the creators were going for a modern day Dracula style story and kudos to them, but I think the old setting is way more superior.

I don't think they knew where they were going with the third episode.

They really dropped the ball on the last episode, sadly.
