Thanks to Teya and Selena I now know Arcade only yielded three million dollars in Spotify revenue

The fact that Snap got the most streams of all the 2022 songs but also finished “only” 20th is kinda funny to me ngl

SO happy to see Occidentali's Karma up there!!!! There were so many good songs that year but Occidentali's Karma is just one of my favorite songs to come out of eurovision ever - meaningful, happy, fun, catchy, and a gorilla - what's not to love?

These are so interesting because they change in popularity so much (for example being used in a tik tok trend or finding a life in the US). In 2019 I remember Soldi was the highest streamed song the entire way up to/after the final - but Arcade got a second life way after the show, in 2020 or 2021 when it was used in a tik tok that went viral. Very interesting. I wonder what song will get a second life next?

The problem is this disobeys one important Eurovision rule:
You cannot vote for your own country!
Most of the streams tend to come from the artist's own country, you know.
Edit: and of course, most of the streams were made after the contest happened lol

2003 winner Every Way tThat I Can has more streams though, it's divided due to publisher's fault who released the same song under different single/album titles.

Not fully basing it off this, but I think we can agree that Iceland would have won in 2020

I don't think MaNga fans are going to like 2010.

Something interesting about 2007. One of the songs with the highest amount of streams is the Czech song - currently with 15, 1 million streams. It’s not as much as Ukraine currently has, but way more than even the winner. Goes to show just how popular Kabát is in Czechia and just how not suited for Eurovision the song is.

The fact snap has more streams than Euphoria 😮

Rosa Linn was soooo underrated at the contest. So glad she got a hit in the end.

This type of analysis is inheritently going to have winner-bias. I.e., people will go looking for a song because it won.

Belgium's City Lights from 2017 is my favourite and probably most streamed Eurovision song. And I have to say despite the controversy, Tattoo is pretty damn good :).
