If you love this drama and can't get enough of it, you can read the novel. The drama kept true to the heart of it except for the added and altered parts. In the novel, Sang Zhi is 𝑓𝑖𝑒𝑟𝑐𝑒𝑙𝑦 protective of DJX. A right savage. Like the almost immediate way she threw the water back at Jiang Ying in the drama lol😆 that made me so happy. I guess they made her a bit more reserved later on though, because in the book version, I especially love the way she answered back to her superior after she accused her of stealing someone’s boyfriend. The scene where she said yes to him was different too. She actually agreed to be his girlfriend after Jiang Ying found her and told her about his failed blind dates and DJX’s dad. Trust me, that woman is crazier in the novel. SZ called her auntie by the end of it, and told her to use her time on her appearance because she will think that JY is DJX's mama's friend if she stood next to him🤣 Her dynamic with Sang Yan is even funnier in the book because she’s so deadpan when it comes to her comebacks to him. Actually, both of them are tsunderes when it comes to each other in the novel. Another funny thing is when they were gonna have a meal after DJZ got beat up by SY, she literally grabbed him by the neck from behind and choked him🤣 Zhao Lusi did a great job portraying a more girly version of the pridefully and hilariously serious SZ. Chen Zheyuan did well, too. His portrayal is just a taaad more serious and adorable here I guess, compared to his much more shameless book counterpart who couldn't take things seriously and doesn't seem to get embarrased by much😆 I can't wait for Sang Yan's story to be adapted too😭♥
