Last time I flew Qantas was to Japan with mates. I tried to get them to fly ANA or JAL or Cathay or Singapore or any other full service but then they were like nah Qantas is reliable and won't cancel....

We didn't get cancelled, just delayed by 18 hours.

Glad its not just me who had this experience. Christmas 2018, me and my parents were visiting my sister who was studying in Sydney (bear in mind we are from the UK) and had decided to book a few days in Cairns for Christmas itself. Turned up and they had cancelled the flights - the lovely customer service team advised us that the Sydney streets were nice and warm this time of year.

Yep Quatus wanted us to sleep on the streets for Christmas because they had cancelled the flights we had been relying on.

Qantas used to be great. Back jn the 80s & 90s I would only fly qantas due to their safety, service, & punctuality. They truly were an amazing airline offering service that was above expectations, even in economy.

These days, you may as well try your luck on Jetstar.

I fly with Qantas regularly (twice a year) from Melbourne to Jakarta, the toilets were absolutely disgusting and constantly smelled like piss, even when they’d just been cleaned. Toilets on Cathay and Singapore Airlines were not like that at all, they stayed pretty clean throughout the flight.

I had 3 PET scans in brisbane, and every single time the return flight was delayed by hours. Sucked, but they did provide a meal voucher every time so I didn't feel too bad in the end.

I'm Glad to see we agree. Try running your hand along the top of the baggage compartments and then see how many dust bunnies you can build with the debris. This will surprise you, but up until about 25 years ago, Quantas were good, clean and punctual with well serviced aircraft. Now there just shit.
