Im to poor to own Serum, so I do this the long way by adding another dup track and use Surge XT or Vital. I also sometimes use Harmonia. Then I make it more interesting but making a third track and use Gatelab on it again and choose another synth. Or sometimes I just use the same synth twice.

I don't want to discourage anyone, but the overwhelming majority of the time when I don't like a song something is wrong on the very fundamental level, like a melody, sound selection or loudness balancing instead of mixing.

Mixing is great for polishing sounds, but it is not as nearly as important as arrangement and sound design. Lots of listeners are not even listening on the stereo audio system and they will not hear side information at all.

Non the less, great tutorial with helpful tips. Keep up the good work!
