In this video, we delve into the concept of slope, a fundamental aspect of algebra and geometry. We'll start with a quick review of rates and then move on to define slope, explaining its importance in measuring the steepness of a line. You'll learn how to calculate slope using the rise over run method, work through various examples, and understand the differences between positive, negative, zero, and undefined slopes. By the end of this tutorial, you'll be able to confidently find the slope of a line from both graphs and coordinate points.

Key topics covered:

Reviewing rates
Defining slope and its significance
Calculating slope using rise over run
Illustrating slope with examples
Understanding slopes of horizontal and vertical lines
Using the slope formula with coordinate points

How to find the #Rate: find the difference in the values of the dependent variable divided by the difference in the values of the independent variable.

#Slope is the value for the steepness of a line.

Slope is rise over run, or change in the y values over change in the x values between two points on a graph.

Horizontal Lines have zero slope and vertical lines have an undefined slope or no slope.

The formula for slope is (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1).
Or, between two points, slope is the difference in y's over the difference in x's.

This video could work for #Algebra students who were absent, or in a flipped classroom.
