Quick update on me. Unfortunately I do not cook anymore professionally. I work at a local HVAC company for my brother in law. My dream is to have unfortunately not a bakery but a restaurant and we wish to invite Gordon the day we open. I have an amazing and beautiful wife and now two beautiful children and working on owning our first home.

I feel for Scooter so much. I don't have much physical disability, but I'm autistic and have faced social difficulties I still can't make sense of to this day. I've hopped from job to job because of those difficulties and I'm currently a line cook at a Cajun seafood restaurant. I love working with food, and I hope to continue working with something I'm passionate about.

This is what I love about Gordon he has this reputation as a hard chef swearing up a storm but on the inside he is a caring man who will use the rewards that his skill has given him to help others he sees as passionate as him.

I remember this episode, and my heart goes out to Scooter. I felt so, so bad, that all he wanted was to cook, but he couldn't because of the owner. I'm happy for him, and Gordon is awesome

Having met Ramsey in person at a culinary competition once I can say that he does indeed love helping new talent to the industry.

Ramsay is such a cool guy.
I've eaten at his burger restaurant a couple of times in Vegas. The employees there speak very highly of him and say when Ramsay visits, he is genuinely nice. He engages with everyone, including the customers.

Ramsay is a good man. Just don't tell him you're a professional if you're not 100% professional. It's a chef thing, not a Ramsay thing.

Gordon is a man's man. Hard and abrasive when he has to be, soft and compassionate when he needs to be, and he knows which situations call for which approach with a total lack of fear or anxiety in the face of confrontation. THAT is masculinity.

this is sad enough to make a grown man cry but not this grown man

Ramsey doesn't give up on anyone who is willing to listen, especially passionate cooks/chefs

Gordon is first and for most a Father. He could see this dear boy struggling.

Imagine being this kid's family... and he comes home one day to tell everyone that they don't have to worry about paying for his education because Gordan Ramsey is personally going to pay for it.

I wish him all the best and may his dream ultimately come true.

That's so touching. I have tears in my eyes for this hardworking, determined young man. I hope he achieves his dream. Gordon is good person, although it's not always obvious from his behavior.

Scooter never went on to own a bakery as it required too much time and he wanted to spend more time with his family.

Gordon can relate to him. That's why he was so interested. Gordon could have had a professional career in soccer like he wanted, but because of a leg injury, he had to say goodbye to that dream. Now he's a Mitchelin star chef. It's funny how the world works.

Having Gordon Ramsey say, "I'll help you open a bakery, and all I want is a loaf of bread" is like Chip Foose going to a garage, seeing a young auto tech and how talented they are, telling them, "I'll pay your tuition at UTI, and help you open up your own garage. And when you do, all you'll owe me is an oil change. Okay?"

I used to think Gordon Ramsey was abrasive and gruff -- but he really does care, and because he doesn't compromise on excellence, he is world-renowned and worth millions of dollars.
