The accused killer of FDNY EMS veteran Alison Russo-Elling pleaded not guilty from his Bellevue Hospital bed in a video arraignment held Thursday.

My mother was a paramedic who helped at GZ after the towers fell. We lost her 10 years later most likely due to an illness that she got from working there. This case broke my heart and killed my soul. This hero did so much good, she saved lives, helped her community on the darkest of days, and this monster slaughtered her only a few months before her well deserved retirement. Mental illness is incredibly sad but we can not let that be an excuse for horrific crimes. It’s not his fault he has a mental illness but it absolutely is his responsibility to receive treatment so he does not hurt himself or others. He absolutely needs to be held accountable. No death penalty, let him sit in prison for a very long life so he can have to live in the cruel prison environment.

It almost sounds as her life is more important than all the lives being loss to unprovoked attacks here in the city am sure this other victims are as important too how about start with dealing with the wrongful system that we have and corrupt leaders that are suppose to be helping us the ones that elect them I didn't vote for anyone since President Obama for me there are no good anymore start dealing with the real problem help us all and get better leaders RIP to this mother, grandmother for me it's not the title but the human life that's most important
