In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to create soft, natural-looking window light using just three lights in the studio. Whether you’re working in a tight space or aiming for a natural light look, this technique will help you recreate the feel of soft window light using flash.
After discovering an inspiration image by Kristian Fanselow, my friend Seed Lynn asked me to help him recreate this beautiful lighting setup. We adapted the lighting to his studio, and with the help of Jeneca, we captured stunning, soft-lit portraits that replicate natural window light.
