Delta Force: Land Warrior is a tactical first-person shooter video game. It is the third game in the Delta Force series developed and published by NovaLogic, and is the sequel to Delta Force 2. A stand-alone expansion pack, Delta Force: Task Force Dagger, was released in 2002.

Delta Force: Land Warrior features 30 missions. The game takes place in various places including Africa, Indonesia, Western Egypt and South America. Objectives range from eliminating high-risk targets such as power plants to rescuing VIPs held hostage. Before deployment, players get briefed and are tasked with picking the specific equipment and gear they want for the mission, allowing them to define their strategy beforehand, e.g.: a stealthy approach with silenced weaponry, or an all-out assault with heavy weaponry. The player is inserted into the objective area by a multitude of means, including insertion by helicopter or parachute. Once on the ground, players can navigate the terrain through a use of a mini-map, containing waypoints pointing the player to their objective(s). In certain missions, the player leads a squad, allowing him to issue orders to his teammates, although the majority of missions pits the player alone against the enemy. A map editor is included, allowing players to modify existing maps, or create new ones.

I was so young when I played this. And I had no idea what to do in this game. I remember dying a lot. It certainly was a fun game.

I remember how epic this game felt as a kid being sort of nonlinear and letting you run all over the huge map. Even moreso around the Pyramids. A bit like Operation Flashpoint around the same time but less demanding.

This is the game from where I started gaming. Just got my first PC back in 2000, bought the CD randomly, never knew this going to be a start of a life long passion for gaming.

I remember playing multi-player and in the world chat people would say to press alt + F4 to get a certain weapon. That's when I learned what Alt + F4 does, but it still took me a few times of getting kicked out to figure it out lol

Man I played this in elementary school as well as DF2. I played Black Hawk Down and DF Extreme all the way until I was a young man. We’ll probably 22/23. I played them way past their expiration date. I’ve always had fun creating maps and having giant battles. I picked up DF2 again recently just for the heck of it. The voxel system was amazing. Such a pivotal series of games that gave rise to the likes of BF2 and similar semi open world FPS games. Man I remember me and my friends crating maps and hosting them online and then communicating to each other through AIM to join and coordinate and play. The Voice Over Net was horrid back then. 30 years on this earth, I still want to play it from time to time.
