aaw my aunt was a mall goth 🥺🖤 she listened to a lot of gothic rock and nu-metal. i still remember going into her room and looking at all her cool clothes and cds and putting her big stompy platform boots on so i could pretend i was like her and her friends 😂

I was a mall goth starting in 1995-1996 in Riverside, CA. And we definitely didn't wear big baggy Jnco jeans with all the bondage straps all over them. That was later. We actually dressed either very elegantly or in Dickies & Converse. We had a huge group of us that hung out at what we called "the bridge" which was a bridge between the mall and the parking garage on the 2nd floor. There was also a pay phone there, and we all had the number to it, and we would call it, and ask whoever answered who was there, and tell them we were on our way. We would also go to Nordstrom where they had a small little cafe where you could put 25 cents into a little box, and get cups of coffee to go. It was so much fun!!

I miss my Tripp pants though! And yes, I might have derided Mall Goth, and I regret it. They helped normalize those of us that invested hundreds in imports, both music and fashion! 🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤

To be fair, it's not like there were random leather stores around my town and the only time I got me long boots is when I was living in San Francisco. All I did was wear black. I hated the baggy pants and the chokers were silly to me.
