2023 Chrysler Pacifica Limited Review / A lot of Minivan for a lot of $$$$

The 2023 Chrysler Pacifica only has three competitors in the current crop of minivans that are on sale. But each other minivan has their own unique characteristic from the all-round Honda Odyssey to the luxurious Kia Carnival SX to the efficient Toyota Sienna. How does the Pacifica stand up against the other minivans?

Like the Odyssey and the Carnival, the 2023 Pacifica is powered by a V6 engine. It’s a 3.6L Pentastar V6 which produces 287 hp & 262 lb-ft of torque (214 kW & 355 Nm). Power is right in between the Honda & the Kia but interestingly, it’s the torque as the others. With a curb weight of 2,215 kg (4,883 lbs), the Chrysler Pacifica’s engine has enough grunt. It won’t pin you to the back of your seat but it doesn’t feel underpowered while setting off from a stop or going up a hill or merging onto a highway.

One of the biggest drawbacks of this engine is the fuel economy, particularly when it’s paired with the available AWD system. It is rated for 14.1 L/100km (16.7 MPG) in a city and 9.4 L/100km (25 MPG) on a highway. In the real world, those numbers are accurate. Perhaps if you have a light foot, you can perhaps get slightly better highway fuel economy but in a city, it’ll be close to that 14 L/100km mark. During my time with the minivan, I averaged 13.6 L/100km (17.3 MPG). The front-wheel-drive variant of the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica can get better fuel economy as it is rated for 12.4 L/100km (18.9 MPG) in a city and 8.4 L/100km (28 MPG) on a highway.

The Chrysler Pacifica 2023 is not a cheap minivan. It starts at $55,690 CAD ($38,020 USD) with this Limited trim and the extras that it is equipped with will set you back $74,525 CAD ($57,185 USD).

I bought a 2018 work a somewhat work van and I started to Mod it a little to much. Now it gets a good amount of attention riding around with 147K (bought it with 69k) and no major issues yet.

I have a 2023 I bought June 1 and I have a little over 10, 000 miles on it. No issues yet. Very quiet. Regarding the Auto start stop issue; it only turns the engine off when it decides that it can. For instance, if your fan is on high, it realizes that it needs the engine power to keep the battery up so I won’t shut off and there’s a couple of three or four other features why it won’t shut off. Anyway, good video. Thanks for making it. I was getting around 18 MPG in town in 29 on the highway. I have the limited model. however it is getting cold now and I am getting around 16.5 MPG in Town. Don’t know what it will get outside of town when it’s cold.

have the 2020 hybrid and i havent seen any major issues except the battery heater failing once which was covered under warranty. i feel that hybrid seems more stable at higher speeds, probably because its heavier? hybrid pickup is definitely more responsive than the gas version. with a mix of city and freeway driving, i average at about 60 to 70 mpg with charging, so i cant complain. The 2020 limited was the highest trim available and came with surround cam and backseat screens. software seems to work better too on the 2020. drove the 2023 gas model for a week and i had the radio unit restart on me a few times . Also the wireless carplay was very jittery.

I wish Toyota would build Pacifica, I would drive nothing else. Functionality-wise, this is the best of the minivans.

It is such a shame that reliability is not there as it is the best looking van out there.
