I find the most amazing rent trivia fact that Jesse Martin actually worked at the Moondance Diner with Jonathan Larson and was even trained by him. He really knew Jonathan longer than anyone else involved with the show and when he sang this song the day Jonathan died, in the play it was for angel but in reality it was for Jonathan. Talk about heartbreaking

Say what you will about this movie as a whole, this is one of the best musical theatre film sequences ever made. I'm completely destroyed by it every time and it builds so beautifully.

I was about 8 or 9 when this movie came out. It exposed me to aids, needles, and gay relationships. This scene made me cry, it was so sad to see such a sweetheart like Angel to die.
