Dave, in your video with Lattice you said something to the effect of, "The worst mistake you can make as an athlete is to not challenge yourself enough." It's great to see you taking your own advice and trying a weight that you think is ridiculous--only to succeed!

[See full comment for something that *might* really help folks struggling with the 3FD!] Twenty years ago, when I was 20, the 3FD was my favorite and strongest grip. I didn't even know that grip had a name but I was very conscious of the fact that it felt like I was dragging my hand to engage it. Since beginning my comeback 3.5 years ago, I have had much trouble regaining the way it used to feel. However, something I've been doing for just the past few months seems to be making a huge difference: pinch training. When I was a young lad, I trained medium and wide pinches on a hangboard. Over the past few months, I have been performing lifts with a wide pinch block (the Frictitious Pinch, to be exact, though I have no reason to think that other brands aren't just as good). Anyway, just sharing my experience. Good luck!
