This Global Change Seminar was organized by the Southeast CASC Global Change Fellows on Thursday February 23, 2023, 1-2:30pm ET online and in person in David Clark Labs (NC State Campus).
Speaker: José González, Founder of Latino Outdoors
Overview: José Guadalupe Adonis González Rosales is a professional educator, conservationist, environmentalist, artist, science communicator, and a huge force in the outdoor inclusion space. His work centers around bridging culture, identity, and the environment through public communication and engagement. González is the founder of Latino Outdoors, a Latinx-led organization working to engage Latino communities in the outdoors through programs focused on facilitating outdoor experiences, creating diverse and inclusive narratives, and embracing Latino community culture.
The seminar focused on Jose’s previous work in the outdoor space and discussed ways to increase inclusivity and accessibility in the outdoors for people of all backgrounds and cultures.
