This YouTube video perfectly describes how to create single line typefaces from any font. It has made a big difference to me personally as I am an engraver, so thank you for this information, it works well.

Thank you for the video, I followed all the steps you've mentioned, but I wasn't able to rasterize, I could still select, the outlines and the Image Trace option was grayed out.
Is there anyway to fixe it?

At first, it disappeared at image trace. I tried many times with bigger fonts with no success until I tried the opposite, with a very smaller font (9px) the image trace worked like a charm.
