From Wikipedia:

"Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now" is a song by the English rock band the Smiths. Released as a single in May 1984, it reached No. 10 on the UK Singles Chart.[3] It was later included in the November 1984 compilation album, Hatful of Hollow. It is listed as one of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.

Lyrics:

"I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour
But heaven knows I'm miserable now

I was looking for a job, and then I found a job
And heaven knows I'm miserable now

In my life
Why do I give valuable time
To people who don't care if I live or die?

Two lovers entwined pass me by
And heaven knows I'm miserable now

I was looking for a job, and then I found a job
And heaven knows I'm miserable now

In my life
Oh, why do I give valuable time
To people who don't care if I live or die?

What she asked of me at the end of the day
Caligula would have blushed

"Oh, you've been in the house too long" she said
And I naturally fled

In my life
Why do I smile
At people who I'd much rather kick in the eye?

I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour
But heaven knows I'm miserable now

"Oh, you've been in the house too long" she said
And I naturally fled

In my life
Oh, why do I give valuable time
To people who don't care if I live or die?"

Recorded straight from my OnePlus6T phone.

No one but a singer and a guitar player will understand how difficult this is to do live. Talent.

As a fan of the smiths, I want to tell you two things: you are incredibly talented and I envy how well you play the guitar ... and second: how the hell does this channel have so few subscribers? I mean, don't you see that this guy is super talented? He hoped someday to see you in some reality show of singing competition. Greetings from Argentina

To be able to play Marr's arrangement and sing Morriseys part so well together takes some real talent. Sounds awesome man 🤙✌

Wow, never heard this song before. I'm astonished. You're great, man.
Absolutely love "I was loooking for a job, and then I found a job, heaven knows I'm miserable now". 😂😂😂So simple, so funny, so sad.

I’m not even lying when I tell you that this cover brought me to tears. There’s something about all these songs stripped down to just acoustic that brings the emotion in the lyrics out more. Your voice is gold and you play amazingly.

I envy this voice a lot its rare that someone can actually just play with a guitar and sing and for it to be so good to listen to

really clean guitar playing, you did a nice, unique take on this!

Even Johnny Marr couldn't play those obscene finger-stretch chords and sing at the same time. Impressed. Wish I could stretch my fingers that far... Respect.
