I am in the process of finishing this Star Quilt with SCRAPS for the stars from fabric that I made civil war quilts with. Stars are all done and white blocks and border just cut yesterday (5/25/20). Here's the deal though those triangles that were cut off from the rectangles I have "40" new half square triangles and I sewed them together and looking for a pattern / design to use them up in. They are approximately after trimming each one of the 40 is 2" x 2" yikes!!! LOLOL another "sub quilt" in the making...I just love it. Thank you much for this video God's blessings.

Each time I watch one of your demonstrations you give me another useful tip. I hadn’t realised that turning the backing fabric gives a bit of stretch. I was also thrilled to see you using your normal machine to do the quilting. I’ve struggled to stitch in the ditch and using an eight of an inch onto the border looks crisp and professional. This would also be great for a baby quilt!! Your tutorials are great, and this time with your quilting! I liked the suggestion of keeping the backing a little bit diagonal, thanks! I love this star !!!! I always had problems with cutting off my points, but not with this star! ❤️❤️

I love the floating star because I don't have to worry about chopping off the points. I have a bunch of fussy cut squares but they are 4 1/2" so I'm going to have to figure out how to make the other pieces smaller so they fit together.
