Just wanna say I love watching your videos you do excellent work. I just hope to never have to come behind and fix something trying to find how it was all fasting together.

Cheers from Snohomish Washington

No.. you run the subfascia to the outside edge of the rake. That will help prevent sagging. Best practice

Does Simpson Strong Tie downgrade the strength if using structure screws only vs using nails. I was under the impression that structure screws are more brittle than nails. I like using the structure screws to draw the wood tight but completing with nails.

Hey, where I frame here in Massachusetts we don’t put the plywood underneath the rakes. I’m just curious for my own curiosity. What is the reason for that?

Can you build the house even closer to the neighbor’s next time? Good lord.

Today's house building is more fasteners and less carpenter skills.

When will people stop using particle board? That stuff is trash.

Id be me concerned about using standing seams on that garbage zip board. Exterior sheeting should run horizontal with staggered vertical seams. Especially with garbage zip board. Since zip board has its insulation on the inside it is impossible to fasten it tightly to the studs of the wall. Every home I have framed with that is extremely wobbly. First house I framed with it. We were disassembling our plank system for installing the rafters and building the strong back for the rafters. One of the young guys jumped off the plank and everyone up there felt the entire house sway. It felt similar to when I was a kid living in my parents balloon framed house being on the second floor during a powerful wind storm. Crazy just to gain a few R values you really lower the quality of the house. If you wanted better R values go with a 2x6 wall and normal plywood or OSB for exterior sheeting
