Why Shadow Was The Main Character in Sonic Movie 3

After watching the movie, my friend gave the theory that Shadow was able to withstand the Chaos energy beam longer than Sonic because he is used to it and makes it himself. Makes sense.

Shadow was in his super form longer because he is made out of chaos energy. It is much easier for him to wield the emeralds.

We also saw shadows real strength once he took off his inhibitor rings, even though it comes with downsides I think pushing the eclipse cannon out of the way by himself was a amazing feat.

Also, i think when Shadow knocked Sonic out of his Super Form was a reference to the scene at the beginning of Sonic 3 (The Game) where Sonic gets knocked out by Knuckles so yeah thats pretty cool

Shadow is made of pure chaos energy in the movie, way way more than he is in the games he’s 100% chaos energy.

The end was peak. The moment Shadow said “What’s his name Tom” Sonic went full speed to punch in the face that just shows real family

A few things to mention.

1 - Shadow was holding back against Sonic in the final duel, because he was already ready to die with the Earth. In his mind, he had already won and was just taunting him, that's why he even let his guard down when Sonic punched him.

2 - Sonic has already went Super in the previous movie, so it makes sense for him to be more experienced with the form and put up a better fight when they are both Super compared to when they are both base.

3 - Shadow still has higher affinity to chaos energy, that's why he was able to last longer in the Super form. Also, his Super form was probably stronger the 2nd time he used it, we even see him use Chaos Spear.

4 - Shadow in the movie universe seems to be able to last without inhibitor rings far longer than his other versions. Not only was he able to take off his inhibitor rings whilst he was in Super, but then he was able to last long enough to come down to Earth and actually find his inhibitor rings.

Basically, if Shadow was going for a kill, he would take off his inhibitor rings against Sonic and beat him in seconds, or not take his inhibitor rings and just lock in an beat him, but that would take far longer.

Although shadow got beaten by Sonic in his super form, Shadow wasn’t going all out because he had his inhibitors on and even with them on he was able to get decent hits on Sonic.
