A few words from Jane Eyre

This short video is not a quote from scripture, it is not a sermon, or even a devotional teaching, this is just a quote from a piece of classic literature from 19th century England. Charlotte Bronte was one of three sisters who initially wrote under pseudonyms to hide the fact that they were women because they didn't think their work would be taken seriously if it were known. These three women were daughters of a clergyman and their religious upbringing, knowledge, and wisdom shine through in this novel. The main character, Jane, is destitute and homeless, spending the night in the open field with nothing but a crust of bread and berries to eat, yet she pauses to reflect upon the beauty of nature, and its revelation of the greatness of God. What a testimony to our jaded 21st century world. If you haven't read this novel, do yourself a favor and add it to your list. It is a beautiful piece of literature with so very much to offer.
