After finding Lamda is 12/34 which simplifies to 6/17 we need to find Mu by subbing Lamda back into one of the simultaneous equations. This gives Mu equal to 8/17. As Mu represents the fraction AQ is of AB it follows that the ratio of AQ:QB is equal to 8:9

@MrAstburyMaths For the second question. Im just trying an alternative route and studying by trial and error.
What if we take KI as KJ + JI
So KJ will be 2(AB) and -2a+2b
and JI will be basically 2(ED) cuz same direction and magnitude thing.
But that leaves us with -2a.

Is the method wrong. What has gone wrong??

Why is it that in Q4 you picked OQ to find 2 expressions of, instead of AQ since its asking for AQ:QB? Because in Q5 you picked to find 2 expressions of OP since its asking for OP:PM.

There is actually an hack to the last question, similar triangles and it took 3 steps and still gives the same answer.

Sir. I think ur wrong in q3. the answer is 8:9 which is 8/17. U wrote 6/17.
