Quick fix for 503 speedsensor error on Bosch Performance CX

This 503 error message has been giving me a serious headache while riding my Cannondale Moterra 2018 with the Bosch Performance CX motor. Then I found out, that when the 503 error occurs, I could use the original speedsensor magnet (which is now permenantly mounted on the bike!) to "freeze up" the speedsensor by just waving it past the speedsensor in a rythmic fashion. You can see on the onboard computer display, that the speedsensor sends a signal to the computer calculating the speed of the bike. Once the computer gives you a speed-reading, just turn the bike off and on again - and you shoud be good to go!

After I moved the sensor i get the 503 error too from time to time. This shortened down the reset time quite a bit for sure!

Doesn't it come back after a few miles? I mean, I guess you have the oem sensor now pointing the pedal crank and the error will pop up gain sonner or later.

hi, I have had this happen a few times. the only thing I am concerned about is the crank feels knarly to turn and creeks. so it feels like there is something actually wrong in the motor itself. I did drop it down to eco to get me home and it did seem to return to normal. as i was worried i had damaged the motor i have put it back to standard. seems to work fine again. anyone experienced this. i mean its ok to have the error message but to actually feel like there's something wrong to
