The Emoji Movie : Smiler's revenge

What’s happening in this The Emoji Movie clip?
Smiler is about to delete Gene (T.J. Miller) when Mel and Mary arrive to reveal to everyone that Mel is also a malfunction. Smiler tries to delete them both but fails thanks to Jailbreak and Hi-5. The two manage to disable the bot, which falls on top of Smiler. In the meantime, Alex has begun the reset of the phone, which threatens Gene and the entirety of his world.

What’s The Emoji Movie about?
Take an adventure in the never-before-seen secret world inside your smartphone to Textopolis, a bustling city where all your favorite emojis live. In this world, each emoji has only one facial expression except for Gene (T.J. Miller), who is bursting with multiple expressions. Determined to become normal, Gene enlists the help of his handy best friend Hi-5 (James Corden) and the notorious code breaker emoji Jailbreak (Anna Faris). Together, these unlikely heroes embark on an epic app-venture through the apps on the phone, each its own wild and fun world, to find the Code that will fix Gene!

I'm guessing they were going to save this scene for August 4th since it is the 4th Anniversary of The Emoji Movie.
And also They confirmed it, The Emoji Movie 2 is coming out on September 15 2023 in Theaters or on Netflix!!!

The logic behind this scene alone proves how the entire story of this movie doesn’t make any sense 😂😂😂. Like…how is the owner of the phone supposed to know the “problem” was deleted? Was Smiler going to announce it to him? He wouldn’t have known, so the guy would’ve eventually still wiped the phone clean anyway (because a patently doing a reset on your phone is hard lol). What was going to happen if she wiped BOTH Gene and Mr Meh off the phone, and the kid couldn’t find the emojis if he wanted to use them?
