there are a lot of free solutions out there... as a part of Elementor Pro it would be great more value for the Pro subscription. As standalone - no thanks!

I installed the plugin and it has optimized only one image, the rest are coming up as Failed. I am unsure as to why. I have looked at the help docs and there is nothing there to explain why...

Will it simply replace the jpg/png or will it at the webp or avid and keep the jpg/png as a fallback solution.

Not included with Elementor Pro? If you are a designer, is better to put that money towards Adobe suite, optimize everything in Photoshop, you can export them in one click by creating "actions"... I see the point when clients are uploading a bunch of images to their e-commerce, but still, not worth it in my opinion.
