Janis Joplin Stardust Hushland Portraits

I first saw Janis as I watched the Monterrey Pop Festival late one night on TV, (fortunately I had the forethought to have a tape in the machine and recorded the performance!) Energy and passion exploded on the screen and I was sold. As my collection of her material grew, I got to hear more of the hurt and yearning under the tracks. She epitomised the classic Rock’n’Roll journey…and that is the tragedy…
