In this video, I’m taking you through my Amazon house, filled with smart home products from #Blink, #RingAlarm, and the #AmazonCloudCam, and my Google house, filled with Nest products. From indoor cameras and outdoor cameras to security systems, video doorbells, smart thermostats, and smart smoke and C.O detectors, I’ll give you the most comprehensive view of an Amazon vs. Google and Ring vs Nest smart home.

Overall, I think that the Nest system is more cohesive, as it’s all under one brand. Amazon, on the other hand, is composed of three different brands, the Amazon Cloud Cam, Ring, and Blink. While these components can all work together, the disparity of the brands does make installation a bit more difficult. However, Nest products are much more expensive than Amazon’s slew of products, so that’s something to keep in mind as well.

After I give you a brief overview of the defining characteristics of Ring vs Nest, I’ll get into specific product comparisons. As far as security systems go, I’m comparing Ring Alarm to #NestSecure, both very minimalist systems with optional 24/7 professional monitoring and cellular backup. I added indoor and outdoor cameras to my security systems, namely the Amazon Cloud Cam and the #RingStickupCamWired from Ring and the #NestCamIndoor and #NestCamIQIndoor from Nest. Now, Nest has more technologically advanced cameras than Ring, but again, you will have to pay significantly more.

After the indoor cameras, we’ll compare the #BlinkXT2 and the #RingSpotlightCamBattery to the #NestCamOutdoor and #NestCamIQOutdoor, which are pretty equal to their indoor counterparts in terms of features and pricing. Aside from the basic security system and cameras, I’ll cover smart thermostats, namely the #ecobee4 vs. the #NestThermostat and #NestProtect, plus smart hubs and speakers from each company.

New Subscriber. One well produced, informative and thorought review which includes different camera types. I am a believer that having one brand only is a detrimental security flaw. Personally, I have accumulated one Nest Outdoor camera which does its main purpose for what I needed it for vs 3 wired ring cameras and just purchased the Ring Peephole camera which does it own purpose. Outside of that, I just purchased a panasonic Homehawk window home monitoring and the Reolink Argust PT w/ Solar panel. In other words, i am "diversifying" my home security "portafolio" and shelling my hard earned money out the door. :P Good job on your review and you gained me as a permanent subscriber.
