I think you wildly underestimate how exciting some of us find this, I’ve been here every week since day 1 and enjoyed every episode.

Once the house is complete Drywall Dave deserves full swimming pool rights and a sculpture or a bust of him on the garden to immortalize all of his glorious kindness!

Landscaper here, y’all did great! Shoveling gravel in the rain sucks no matter how used to it you get! Watching y’all compact the soil did hurt me a little bit lol, the rain will usually take care of that for you. Look into planting a cover crop there while y’all are still working on the house to keep out weeds and build up soil health. I’ve definitely commented this before but look into native plants for your landscape - they’ll be low maintenance, help your house settle into the surroundings and great for wildlife!

Anyone come back here to see what the city had a problem with? (Ep.60?)

Jenna, it wasn't boring AT ALL! Your Dad is WONDERFUL! What a guy! Your house is just marvelously marvelous. So happy for you. Once done, you won't stop talking about how you built it for at least 100 years. Well, that's how I'd be. Thank you for sharing your marvelous journey.

Here to say hi to the city inspectors and thank them for adding to Jenna’s Adsense, be sure you watch the entire ad. Didn’t know Canadians paid permit fees for inspectors to spend their time on YouTube 👋✌️

I have a tip for the future. Whenever you get a delivery of gravel or loam or anything like that, have them dump it on a tarp. It helps keep everything together and makes it easier to clean up and use every bit that you purchased.

One thing I've noticed, Nikki is so patient through out the videos. 'Its ok, it's a learning process' very commendable!

Just have to say that this house is pretty much every British Columbian's unattainable dream. A beautiful hilltop home in Vancouver? This is the life! So to say this is boring is the complete and total opposite. There are so many people who would love to do this but don't have the skills, money, or creativity to pull this off. Its absolutely enthralling. Thank you for letting us all watch!

My 4 year old daughter and I watch every single week! We are fully invested in your success. Some comments she made this week:
“That’s our sweetest girl Jenna.”
“Oooh look at all that rock!”
“Mom! Stop the video right now! That looks so fresh. I want a house like that.” (in response to the the renderings)

Jenna, this comment might get lost but... The rain montage brought me to tears. My father passed years ago and before that he was sick, but somewhere in an alternative universe this is the sort of bananas project he would have helped me with. Well done your dad for supporting his daughter and well done you (and Nick) for asking for help and having a laugh together through the tough jobs.

@Jenna Phipps for this section at 19:00 You could install an outdoor shower. Its partially enclosed, next to the pool to rinse chlorine off, you could tie into the existing drainage you are installing. It could be a fun idea for an awkward area.

The funny thing is...I knew exactly the location and angle that each of these renders was created from. That is how long I have been watching you two work on this house.

My husband has done landscaping for about 20 years. He owned his own company for a good while. People assume landscaping is unskilled work, but the sheer amount of things my husband and his colleagues are experts in is mindblowing. And yet, it's the only skilled trade in America (not sure about Canada) that isn't unionized, doesn't get benefits, vacation, or sick pay. And basically pays just barely above minimum wage. Because people think landscaping just means mowing and gardening, but it's so, so much more than that. Landscapers deserve as much respect (and pay/benefits) as any other skilled trade. Especially since it's probably the hardest of the trades physically and requires such vast and diverse expertise.
