Sunscreen pills - Do I recommend? | Ask Doctor Anne

Today I want to address another question from your guys: Do I recommend sunscreen pills ? Like the ones from Heliocare or similar brands? I mean, if you can just pop a pill and add to your sun protection, wouldn’t that be great? Or are these sunscreen pills actually dangerous?

Heliocare was recommended to me for solar urticaria. Sunscreen doesn’t help me.

I read about it but I didn’t feel right about taking it. I was worried about the fern triggering my asthma. I have plenty of pollen allergies.

I know that fern plants give off spores.

I treat both naturopathic and modern medicine with the same degree of respect.
